Traditional Water Tanks vs Tankless

There are pros and cons to both systems but we are here to help to give your home the perfect hot water solution. A traditional hot water tank will heat and  store water in a tank and maintain the temperature at all times whereas a tankless system will only heat water on demand.

Reasons to choose a traditional boiler:

• Lower Installation Cost - The cost of a new gas or electric hot water tank and the installation is approximately half that of a tankless system.

• Less Maintenance, a tankless system needs to be serviced and flushed annually.

• The home has enough space for the tank either a closet or basement. 

• You're planning on moving home in the next 5 years. Whilst not as efficient as a tankless system it will take at least 5 years for the energy savings to outweigh the setup costs.

Reason to choose a tankless system

• Long term energy savings, a tankless system will only use energy when you turn on the faucet as opposed to running 24/7 so over time your system will pay for itself. 

• A tankless system takes up significantly less space than a hot water tank.

• You will never run out of hot water (within reason!). Tankless systems do have a GPM (Gallons per minute) capacity, but we can help you choose the system that is right for your needs. 

• Tankless systems are more environmentally friendly.
